ABOUT LUIS
Luis Bello is a Maryland-based Neo-Expressionist artist whose dynamic life experiences deeply inform his multidisciplinary work. Born in Mexico, his passion for art started at a young age, creating drawings he would send to his mother in the United States. After moving to the U.S., Bello faced the turbulence of adolescence, becoming entangled in gang activity and substance abuse. However, his time in juvenile detention marked a turning point. Upon returning home, an art teacher rekindled his passion for creativity, helping him channel his energy into painting and music.

Bello’s powerful mixed media works, often exploring themes of resilience, transformation, and identity, have been showcased in several exhibitions, including solo shows like "Phases and Faces: Paintings by Luis Bello." His art, a reflection of his personal journey, continues to evolve, offering a fearless exploration of the human spirit's capacity to overcome adversity and embrace renewal.
